Regal Summit Book Awards™ Rules and Regulations
*Free Entry by June 1, 2025 - Winners Announced July 1, 2025
1. Regal Summit Book Award™ is an international literary competition open to authors who have published or publicly released the book they wish to enter. The author must be 18 years old and have full rights to their book.
2. Author's book may be small/medium press or mainstream press.
3. Fiction entries are limited to published, full-length novels consisting of 48,000 words or more. Short Story Collections should be at least 12,000 words. Poetry Collections should have 40 pages or more.
4. Children’s entries have no minimum word count.
5. Non-fiction entries are limited to published books of 24,000 words or more.
6. Book submitted to the Regal Summit Book Award™ must be fully published and currently available for sale matching the book submitted.
7. Each entrant understands and accepts that the Regal Summit Book Award™ is a competition, therefore an award is not guaranteed; you are competing against other entrants. Fees paid for services to the Regal Summit Book Award™ are non-refundable, and by submitting your book, you agree to the terms of use.
8. Each entrant is responsible for adding our email address to their contacts in order to bypass their email spam filter. We may need to contact an entrant about issues regarding their entry. In the event that we are unable to contact an entrant, their entry may be disqualified. Our email address is regalsummit@hotmail.com
9. The Regal Summit Book Award™ accepts PDF, Kindle, Mobi, ePub,Word Doc, or Docx file formats of your complete novel. We do not convert files for entrants. (For PDF: Single page only. No double-facing page, book-block versions. This renders the text so small that the judges struggle to read it.) We do not accept hard copies. We do not accept watermarked books.
10. If there are no viable books (books written well enough to achieve award status) in a particular category, the Regal Summit Book Award™ reserves the right not to present an award for that specific category. Awards are only given to books that score high enough based on our judging protocol.
11. The Regal Summit Book Award™ awards books based on our criteria and solely at our discretion.
12. Your book rights remain your own. We are not a publisher. The Regal Summit Book Award™ is a competition. By entering, you are not signing a publishing agreement.
13. All judges and their respective scores in the contest will remain anonymous. Additionally, entrant information is kept strictly confidential. The Regal Summit Book Award™does not sell your information to any third party.
14. No information will be given regarding the number of books entered in the Regal Summit Book Award™or who entered. (With the exception of announcing the winners.)
15. The Regal Summit Book Award™ does not provide authors with judging notes, or comments. We do not offer detailed feedback as to why a book did not achieve winner status. The Regal Summit Book Award™ is a competition, not a writing coaching service.
16. Entries to the Regal Summit Book Award™ will be judged based on multiple writing skills, which can include: story-telling, grammar, and punctuation, the author’s ability to engage the reader, transitions, point-of-view, pacing, narrative, voice, character, descriptions, and dialogue.
17. The Regal Summit Book Award™ maintain the right to move a book to the correct category without notice if we feel it was entered in the wrong category.
18. Regal Summit Book Award™ is not responsible for incorrect emails or typos given to us as a contact.
19. All entries must be original work.
20. It is your responsibility to send us the best version of the book you are entering in the Regal Summit Book Award™. We do not accept additional re-edited versions of your book after the your initial submission.
21. By entering the Regal Summit Book Award™, you grant us the right to use your likeness, your pseudonym, your book cover, book description, any links to the book and/or your website should it win.
22. Books submitted to the Regal Summit Book Award™are kept strictly confidential. Only our judges will have access to the files, and the files are deleted from our system upon completion of the contest. We do not sell, or give, any entrant information to third parties.
23. Entering the Regal Summit Book Award™ contest does not guarantee a win.
24. The Regal Summit Book Award™ does not award books that promote hate speech against any group of people, or contain inflammatory language or bias against any group of people, religion, political party, gender, or race.
25. The Regal Summit Book Award™ reserves the right to change these terms at any time without prior notice.
26. The reproduction of the Regal Summit Book Award™ winner emblems and logos is forbidden.
27. You (Entrant, Author, or End User) will indemnify and hold The Regal Summit Book Award™ and its directors, members, employees, and agents, harmless against any expense (including, but not limited to, reasonable attorneys’ fees and disbursements) or judgment, settlement or other liability arising out of any claim or legal proceeding asserting claims contrary to any warranty or representation made by You (Entrant, Author, or End User) in this Agreement.
28. By entering, The Regal Summit Book Award™ You (Entrant, Author, or End User), agree to all terms, and you agree that every term is binding.
